Seeking Truth on Many Paths: Earth Centered Spirituality
April 14, 2003
In the UU movement today, the phrase "Earth centered spirituality"
covers a wide range of beliefs and practices. The most visible UU organization
for Earth centered spirituality is the Covenant of Unitarian Universalist
Pagans. CUUPS was formed in 1985 for the purposes of:
- enabling networking among Pagan-identified Unitarian Universalists;
- providing outreach of Unitarian Universalism to the broader Pagan
Community;
- providing educational materials on Paganism for UU congregations
and
the general public;
- promoting Pagan and Jewish/Christian dialogue;
- encouraging the development of theo/alogical and liturgical materials
based on earth- and nature-centered religious and spiritual perspectives;
- encouraging greater use of music, dance, visual arts, poetry, story,
and creative ritual in Unitarian Universalist worship and celebration;
- providing support for Pagan-identified UU religious professionals
and
ministerial students;
- and fostering healing relationships with our mother the Earth and
all
her children.

Circle Round
Starhawk, Diane Baker, Anne Hill
This book presents new ways to spend meaningful time as a family--togetherness
is fostered by celebrations that honor the sacredness of life and our
Mother Earth. The Goddress tradition embraces the wheel of life, and
each turn is represented in "Circle Round."
Drawing Down The Moon
Margot Adler
A detailed history of a little known and widely misunderstood movement--"neo-paganism."
The author attended rituals and interviewed people across the United
States who find inspiration in ancient dieties, nature, myth and science
fiction. She found religious groups that are nonauthoritarian in spirit
and share the belief that there is no one path to divinity.
