Report of the Intern Minister
I am delighted to be joining the Church of the Larger Fellowship and Arlington Street Church for my internship year. I am happy to report that my wife Deedee Agee and I are nicely settled in Somerville , having sold our home and left our congregation in Ridgewood , NJ . I have been somewhat preoccupied during the first few weeks of my internship with preparing to see the Ministerial Fellowship Committee on September 24th. I'm delighted and relieved to report that the interview was successful and I have now been accepted into preliminary fellowship.
I have been spending my time so far become acquainted with our procedures, pitching in on helping to edit Quest, and beginning to handle some of the pastoral calls, letters and emails. I'm looking forward to beginning to compile worship services to expand the array of resources available to our members and small UU groups and I have also committed to beginning an online course entitled "Reading the Bible With UU Eyes" starting at the beginning of November. I would like to begin exploring the possible use of new technologies such as Google Talk and its competitors to see if they may offer a new dimension to teaching courses on the web.
I look forward to working with the extremely dedicated and very able staff this year as I learn as much as I can about how to minister both in a virtual and a bricks and mortar church.
