2004 Report of the Membership Administrator
I have been working as the membership administrator this
year. I work a 21-hour week and my main job is administration
of the database. This means entering new, trial and full members
as well as keeping the database clean, running the Quest and
UU&me queries for the mailing lists, and running any reports
that are needed for data collection or staff purposes. I also
keep contact with the trial members and send out reminders
at the end of every month. I send the members who are interested
in joining the email lists to Linda Melski and respond to
her emails regarding them. I forward members who are interested
in the pen pal program to Kathy Reis, anyone who wants to
volunteer for other things to the correct person. I also process
any changes to the database – this may include addresses,
emails, or membership changes.
I have the main CLF email and spend a good amount of time
forwarding these to the appropriate staff members or dealing
with them myself. All the areas of this job have picked up
as we are gaining new members and prisoners daily. I am also
the staff liaison to the Young Adult email list – I
add new members and keep a general eye on things.
Overall the pace of this year has been good and things have
gotten increasingly busy. As a membership person I am in the
center of the staff and as such I perform a support piece
as well. When I have time I do help with different projects
that other staff are responsible for.
