NEW SENIOR MINISTER FOR THE CLF!

The Reverend Meg A. RileyThe Reverend Meg A. Riley has been called to be the next minister of the Church of the Larger Fellowship. She will take up her ministry with our congregation on August 16, 2010.

Meg has served the Unitarian Universalist Association since 1989, where she is currently Director of Advocacy and Witness. She is the inspiration behind the UUA’s “Standing on the Side of Love” campaign.

The CLF Board of Directors was unanimous in extending a call to Meg on behalf of the congregation. Board members were united in expressing their enthusiasm for her unique combination of vision, skills and experience.

Meg comes to CLF with a passion for our unique mission and ministry. “I grew up in one of those fellowships that emerged in the 50s and 60s, in Charleston, West Virginia,” says Meg. “I am eternally grateful that Munroe Husbands was an organizer, and CLF members gave him the starting place from which such fellowships emerged. That small fellowship taught me my deepest understanding of what it means to be Church (though they would have shrieked and run away from that word). In short, CLF saved my life!”

Meg holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature from Reed College and a Master of Arts degree from United Theological Seminary. She was ordained to the Unitarian Universalist ministry in 1992.
