The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is an American hero, a man who lived and died as a courageous voice for justice for African-Americans.  At time when Black people in the southern part of the U.S. were treated as second-class citizens, prevented from voting and kept separate from White people, Dr. King preached and organized and served as the voice of the civil rights movement.
