How Congregations Can Help the CLF

How Your Congregation Can Help | Second Collection/Second Offering

Your congregation can support the CLF’s good work in a number of ways:

  • Add the CLF to your congregation’s on-going list of charitable giving.  The CLF is grateful for one time and recurring gifts from congregations.  Adding the CLF as a line item in your church budget could be one way to support your own congregational goals.  Perhaps your church appreciates that it grew out of the efforts of Munroe Husbands and the CLF membership rolls (more than 450 did!), or values the work the CLF does in UU outreach, prison ministry, UUs in the military, our Quest publication, RE resources, or other areas.  With over 3,000 members and hundreds more exploring the CLF on the internet every week, contributions to the CLF can have a big impact.  Please email us at clf@clfuu.org and let us know!
  • Invite enthusiastic, distant or isolated church members to become CLF members. The CLF welcomes all, including those in the military, the incarcerated, those with physical or emotional constraints that preclude participation in a traditional worship setting, young adults, and those contented congregants who want even more.  Many walled churches sponsor CLF membership for their members who are isolated, but still within, their church communities.  Full members receive the CLF’s worship publication, Quest, and are also able to participate in other CLF offerings such as the CLF Lending Library, online communities, and a wide range of worship and religious education resources.
  • Subscribe to the CLF’s Religious Education Resources which include everything for an RE program (except the art supplies!).  A valuable resource for congregations and individuals alike—from online curricula to email interest groups, from holidays of the world’s religions to UU history for children and adults—the Church of the Larger Fellowship provides resources and a searchable data base that support its members of all ages in their spiritual and ethical growth.
  • Patronize the CLF shop for your church and personal needs—a terrific resource for UU order-of-service covers, jewelry (great coming-of-age gifts!), or note cards appropriate for use for many occasions throughout the year.  Stock up to have them on hand, and help fund the CLF at the same time.

  • Sponsor your young adults in the Church of the Younger Fellowship, our congregation by and for young adults, to maintain UU connections for those with mobile lifestyles.
